Tony Boutros
Tony is the managing partner of ECOVIS BCA Lebanon since its establishment in April 2019. ECOVIS BCA Lebanon became an independent member firm of ECOVIS International.
Tony accumulated a versatile and unique insight into the Lebanese public accountancy practice, commencing his career path in 1998 with a Big 4 firm in Beirut.
In 2002, Tony left for an other Big 4 firm in Beirut. As a result of his technical abilities and excellence in client servicing, he was promoted to lead the audit and tax practices in partner capacity from 2008 to 2012. During that period, Toni was awarded and entrusted with the Risk management, Ethics and Independence leadership roles. Through his visionary approach, he successfully strengthened and revamped the audit and risk management policies and procedures.
Through his professional journey, Tony aggregated a vast range of experience in varied disciplines ranging from auditing and other attestation services, to accounting and tax advisory, as well as compliance and due diligence reviews. His diverse exposure gained him intimate knowledge and insight into numerous industries including banks, financial services, insurance companies, contracting, manufacturing, retail, real estate, telecommunication, utilities, oil and gas, and not-for-profit organisations. He served clients of all sizes ranging from the small family business to the large multinational conglomerate. Tony also catered to the public and government sector in high profile projects and engagements.
Having in-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Auditing Standards (IAS) as well as local Lebanese accounting and tax standards, Tony spreads his professional passion through teaching. He lectured in advanced accounting, taxation and the practical aspects and applications of the audit function in banks, financial institutions, and corporates at two of Lebanon’s most esteemed universities.
Tony holds a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Lebanese American University in Lebanon and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) with an active practice license from the New Hampshire Board of Accountancy in the USA. He is also a licensed member of the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants (LACPA).
