Resident Director Services
Corporate governance in Australia is subject to the operation of various laws and regulations, the most fundamental of which is the Corporations Act 2001 (the Corporations Law).
Under the Corporations Law, a proprietary company registered in Australia must have at least one director, and at least one of its directors must be an Australian resident. As such, if there is only one director they must be an Australian resident.
In the event that our non-resident clients are unable to identify an Australian resident director, Ecovis Clark Jacobs can provide nominee resident director services to satisfy this requirement, subject to certain pre-conditions being met.
